Kansas. K-10 in Johnson County. Project 10-46-078-6(16)
The purpose is to improve K-10 from DeSoto to a junction with K-7. It is an integral part of a connection between Kansas City and Lawrence. The construction of the embankments, especially those necessary to allow construction of twin bridges which span the railroad and existing K-10 and to raise the road above flood levels, requires the use of borrow areas. The project passes through several farm ponds which must be purchased and drained. These ponds are man-made and can usually be replaced at an upstream location by the owner.
