Structural Tests on Dolosse
A swing-type test procedure was developed which would represent conditions in an actual breakwater as close as possible by including a realistic yield, comparable to the movement on impact of the underlying dolosse and/or stone. Tests were done on unreinforced, single-rail reinforced, X-rail reinforced and double V-rail reinforced 9-t dolosse. The dolosse were tested by progressively increasing their fall height until the dolos broke or until cracks occurred of at least 0.5 mm width or a fall height of 4.1 m was reached.
