Recent Developments in Probabilistic Geotechnical Engineering
New and extended work in some areas of probabilistic geotechnical engineering are presented in a largely non-technical fashion. The areas covered are the following: Measuring soil properties, including geostatistics, graphical analysis, choice of estimators, factor analysis and updating parameter distributions; Markov processes, including micro-macro models and progressive slope failure; Probabilistic design with special reference to Level II design methods and slope stability.
