The fourth volume of 'Geology and Dams' describes a number of dams belonging to different engineering and geological lay-outs thus enabling the reader to find similar conditions, including different types of soil, throughout various parts of the U.S.S.R. While describing the engineering and geology of different dams, the creative ability of the engineering-geologists in tackling the various problems arising is noted in the light of the engineering and geological conditions encountered in the erection of dams in basins.
