A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Trunk Highway 60 in Central Watonwan County Past St. James, Minnesota
The primary objective is removal of through highway 60 traffic from the urban streets of St. James and Butterfield, and to provide all T. H. 60 traffic with a facility that will offer greater capacity, safety, reduced travel time, and standard design. Acquisition of right of way required for construction will remove agriculturally productive lands from production. Some small areas of wildlife cover in intersected road ditches, water course crossings and the few remaining fence lines in the area, will be lost. The proposed construction will require acquisition and removal of one business in the area of the proposed interchange junction, 12 residences (including 11 farm houses), and 22 miscellaneous farm buildings from within the proposed right of way limits of the projects. The proposed construction will not have significant adverse effects in reference to aesthetic or visual effects, areas of unique interest or scenic beauty, or important recreational areas. There are no effects which would substantially affect wildlife, the ecological balance of the area, or public water systems.
