Evaluation of Backcalculation Methods to Predict Pavement Layer Moduli
The main objective of this research is to evaluate backcalculation procedures that are currently available for determining the moduli of flexible pavement layers and the subgrade. More specific objectives of this study are to: Provide a single convenient reference describing backcalculation programs for Caltrans; Determine the sensitivity of backcalculation computer procedures to input parameters; Verify the accuracy of backcalculation computer procedures; Recommend computer procedure(s) for future use; and Provide recommendations for successful applications of the procedure(s) to evaluate pavement structural capacity.
