Difficulties in supplying specialist plants to Middle East countries were reported. Finance, labor, climate and terrain, maintenance, transportation to destination, and supply of plant management were highlighted. Examples of successful projects at Muscat and Oman, Nigeria, Tehran and Libya were described. The use of British technology in concrete constructions with realistic assessment of Middle East requirements was considered to provide a firm basis for future opportunities in this geographical area.
