A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The computer-integrated building information system comprises product data model, data transfer systems, databases and application programs available in different organizations. These have been adapted to comply with agreements and standards required by integration. The guidelines for these solutions in Finland have been outlined in development projects of the RATAS programme. One of the main objectives is to standardize the systematics of communication between different information systems without restricting the opportunities of the various parties to use and develop their preferred systems. Design documents can be prepared on the basis of information requirements defined by the user from plans and product models stored in a database.
