A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The publiction chronicles the development of the Washington Center's Housing Opportunities Project which included the pioneering series of Homeseekers' Guides to major suburban jurisdictions of the Washington metropolitan area. The Guides were conceived as a consumer-use document that would help 'equalize the odds' for minority homeseekers by providing them with greatly improved knowledge regarding the housing supply. Other activities covered in the report are an action-research project on bias in newspaper real estate advertising and a campaign to reform the policies and practices of federal agencies with regard to relocation of facilities to suburban areas.
