This report presents a model for building programs based on community involvement in management of environmental pollution (CIMEP) in peri-urban neighborhoods. A CIMEP program empowers the residents of a peri-urban community to investigate environmental conditions in their neighborhood, identify problems, set priorities, and plan and implement measures to address the problems that concern that them the most.
