Assessment of Fire-Damaged Concrete Structures and Repair by Gunite
The effect of high temperature on the properties of unreinforced, reinforced, and prestressed concrete was summarized and fire damage for columns, beams, and slabs in a typical reinforced concrete framed structure was assessed on the basis of four classes. Design factors and detailing of gunite repairs for restoring a structure to its original performance requirements were described, especially for heavily damaged structures. Illustrations, before and after repair, and worked examples to determine redesign necessary, are included for a floor slab, T-beam, and column.
