A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The report describes the design and construction of a two-wheel trailer for measuring skid resistance of roadway surfaces. The development of the various measuring systems and component parts are discussed in detail in the report along with other general information concerning the two vehicle and trailer. As a second phase of this study, some fifty roadway sections throughout the State were tested for skid resistance in order to check out the operation of the trailer and to determine the general range of coefficient of friction that exist on the Louisiana highway system.
