SR 5, South 272nd Street Interchange in King County, Washington
The statement of the administrative action, describes the improvement of construction of an interchange on Interstate 5 at South 272nd Street, approximately ten miles south of the Seattle Corporate Limits in King County, Washington. The construction of this interchange would relieve traffic congestion at the adjacent State route 516 and South 320th Street Interchanges, with a substantial increase in traffic on South 272nd Street. Together with the increase in traffic volumes on South 272nd Street, probable adverse effects would be the displacement of eight homes, and a general increase in noise levels along South 272nd Street. The construction of this interchange may accelerate the urbanization of this area, however, land use planning has been based on the premise that the area will develop into an urban environment.
