Construction Records Study
An acute awareness of the large volume of records that are required for construction projects and the nonuniformity with which these records are kept caused the Louisiana Department of Highways to conduct a study of construction documentation practices. Of primary concern was the amount of duplication that was occurring and the amount of time being spent maintaining the duplicate records. The number of forms being used, with no apparent need by any section in the Department, was also of concern.
