Tourism-Recreation Potentials, Towns County, Georgia. Volume II. Feasibility Study

This report reviews the resource base for an expanded tourist-recreation business in Towns County, identifies potential markets, and defines a comprehensive plan for development that would provide tangible economic benefits to the County. Included within the plan are suggestions for specific types of accommodations and facilities to be incorporated in a recreation area on Lake Chatuge near the Town of Hiawassee, and in a resort area which includes a skiing center near the town of Young Harris. In the present volume, various projects are examined in light of their economic feasibility, as individual projects and as profitable additions to the economic base of the area. (Author)
