Planned Residential Environments
The research reported has been directed at two objectives: first, an assessment of people's overall responses to selected, planned residential environments and their responses to particular features of these environments; and, second, an investigation of the transportation requirements of people living in planned residential environments and a comparison with similar demands of people living in more typical residential surroundings. The method of inquiry has been to select ten communities to represent different types of planned and less planned residential environments and to conduct intensive personal interviews with carefully selected probability samples of their residents. The scope of the study has been restricted to people living in single family houses and townhouses. (Author)
