The report documents the magnitude and characteristics of residential displacement caused by public action in the Washington Metropolitan Area for the two year period FY 1973 and FY 1974. It describes and analyzes the 1970 Federal Uniform Relocation Act, as well as state and local legislation, policies and programs in terms of their impact on the delivery of relocation housing resources and services. Planning, policy, and programmatic recommendations for improving the type, quality and effective delivery of relocation services are presented.
