Lyndon B. Johnson National Historic Site, Lyndon B. Johnson Boyhood Home
The Lyndon B. Johnson Boyhood Home in Johnson City, Texas, one part of the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historic Site, is being furnished by the National Park Service as it was between 1922 and 1930. During that time the late President graduated from the Johnson City High School and attended Southwest Texas State College, often returning home on weekends. The study presents a room by room description of furnishings based largely on recollections of President Johnson's brother and sisters. The author also interviewed family friends. The report indicates differences of opinion among those interviewed and gives general family recollections in an appendix. In the absence of good photographs, the study presents a detailed picture of the Home's interior.
