Rock-Bolt Anchorage in Tertiary-Gravel Material: Badger Hill, California
Examined is the feasibility of rock-bolt support in Tertiary gravel material. Pull tests were performed on five types of rock-bolt anchors to determine their optimum anchorage capacity. Four are commercially available; the fifth, an explosive anchor bolt, was developed by the Bureau. To increase anchorage capacity, epoxy grout was used with several commercial types of bolt. (Author)
