Quality Assurance of Timber Mat Pack Mine Supports
Previous research on timber mat packs gave a method with which to predict the structural behavior of timber packs. Contact area, moisture content and density are the main parameters. This model and realistic distributions for the main parameters are used in a computer simulation. It was found that only the average values of the main parameters need to be considered in a quality assurance scheme in order to achieve desired pack performance.
