Low Friction Sliding Surfaces for Bridge Bearings: Ptfe Weave
Many bridge bearings incorporate low friction PTFE layers to accommodate multi-directional movements of the bridge superstructure. The performance over a range of practical conditions indicates that the friction mechanism is of a complex nature, and shows regions of distinctive behaviour. (Author)
