The report describes the proposal to initiate construction, upon Federal authorization and receipt of funds, of a channel approximately 2,600 feet long by 150 feet wide by 12 feet deep across the ocean bar at Chincoteague Inlet. Additional construction involves a channel 100 feet wide by 9 feet deep from the entrance channel to the presently authorized Chincoteague Channel on the Waterway on the Coast of Virginia, and thence along the channel to a point approximately 2,000 feet north of the State highway bridge at Chincoteague. A brief summary of adverse and beneficial environmental effects is included.
