Cultural Resources Investigations of the Citrus Lands Area; New Orleans to Venice Hurricane Protection Project, Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana
During April and May 1990 archeological investigations were conducted at the proposed Citrus Lands borrow area near West Point a la Hache, in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. No archeological remains were encountered within the planned project area. However, one previously unrecorded site, 16PL153, was encountered outside the limits of the proposed borrow pit. This site probably represents the remains of a field drainage structure. No further work is recommended for the project area. Site 16PL153 will require additional testing, if future plans will result in impact to or destruction of the site complex.
