Feasibility Study of Reinforced Plastic Utility Poles and Piling
The report presents the results of a feasibility study of the use of reinforced plastic telephone poles and piling for military construction overseas. The state-of-the-art of reinforced plastics fabrication was studied to determine the technical feasibility of reinforced plastic poles. Information on costs and logistics relating to the shipment and use of timber poles versus reinforced plastic poles was collected and evaluated. (Author)
