The standard provides guidelines for accomplishing a thorough examination and satisfactory analytical verification of the static stability of an embankment dam. This will be accomplished through a discussion of applicable loading conditions, material properties, pore pressures to be considered, and appropriate minimum factors of safety which should be obtained for those loading conditions.
