Air Quality Manual. Volume V. Mathematical Approach to Estimating Highway Impact on Air Quality. Appendix to Volume IV
Highway engineers have to consider a variety of factors in the environmental impact of any highway project. This manual is an appendix to report number PB-219 814. This appendix includes a series of curves showing the relationship between ground level pollutant concentration ratio and distance from pollutant source, and includes a series of curves giving vertical and horizontal dispersion parameters. The ground level concentration ratio versus distance curves are divided into four groups; (1) at grade sections where the wind is not parallel to the highway alignment, (2) elevated sections and non-parallel winds, (3) cut sections and non-parallel winds, and (4) varied highway sections with parallel winds.
