Sensitivity Analysis of Superpave Mixture Volumetric Properties
The primary objective of this study is to investigate the effect of changes from the input variables on the response variables, air voids, voids in mineral aggregates (VMA) and in-place density and tensile strength ratio. Twelve recently built Superpave projects were selected for use in this study. Principal component analysis (PCA) and multiple correlation analysis (MCA) were conducted to identify the statistically singificant variables and to develop quantitative relationships between the predictor and response variables.
