Condensation in Well Insulated Houses
The performance was investigated of well insulated houses in Aberdeen (Scotland). Condensation problems were reported in two areas, the bedroom ceilings adjacent to outside walls and in the loft. It was found that misalignment of insulation material above the ceiling was the cause of the first fault; this was remedied. The loft condensation resulted from leakage through the loft access door and service access points; sealing off these solved the problem.
