An Analysis of the Responses from an Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Survey of Trenching and Shoring Practices
Results of an Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) survey of present practice in excavation, trenching, and shoring, and of the impact of the OSHA Regulations for Excavation, Trenching, and Shoring as perceived by a selected number of the membership are presented. The survey consisted of forty-seven (47) questions. A response of about fify percent resulted in twenty-three (23) questionnaires being completed and returned to AGC. Although the twenty-three responses did not merit a rigorous statistical analysis, the data are useful in making some general statements about trenching and excavation operations.
