Aquatic Park is a historic designed landscape located on the San Francisco Waterfront, immediately west of Fisherman's Wharf. The park is within the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park (SAFR), and has a rich association with maritime history, community, and park planning, and the Works Progress Administration. For over a century Aquatic Park has been a popular public recreation area and waterfront park. The designed landscape of Aquatic Park includes historic circulation systems, open spaces, planted areas, and several significant structures including piers, retaining walls, unique outbuildings, and the Streamlined Moderne Bathhouse. In 1984, Aquatic Park was listed in the National Register of Historic Places and three years later, in recognition of its national significance, the park was designated a National Historic Landmark (NHL).
