The proposed project contemplates the construction of a SE extension (75' x 600') to the present NW/SE runway, overlay the NW/SE runway (75' x 3000') with two inch bituminous concrete, and acquire 35.22 acres of land easements and 9.03 acres in fee simple. The purpose of the project is to upgrade the existing runway pavement which is now deteriorating. The extension will accommodate aircraft presently using the airport with more safety. The proposed airport improvements are not in conflict with any specific community interest, nor will there be any unavoidable adverse environmental effects.
