An analysis is made of factors affecting future land use development (future population and economic levels, existing land uses and other physical features), land use goals and objectives, standards for future land use development and projected land use needs. A planning area to accommodate future land use requirements is established. A sketch thoroughfare system is developed, based primarily upon the land use plan, to be used in conjunction with a transportation study underway for the Columbus, Georgia - Phenix City region.
