Tunnelling Currents in Reverse Biased CMT (Cadmium Mercury Telluride) Photodiodes
An expression for the tunneling current in a general homojunction in cadmium mercury telluride is derived. This expression is used to predict the range of doping and bias where tunneling is a problem for thermal imaging. Techniques for reducing the tunneling current are considered.
