This historic structure report (HSR) has been produced by the Historic Architecture Program (HAP) of the Northeast Regional Office (NER), National Park Service (NPS). Its purpose is to support design and legal compliance requirements related to treatment and use of the Ansley Wilcox House, as authorized in the Master Plan (1967) and Master Plan Amendment (2005) for the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic Site (NHS). As stated in the task directive, the principle objective of this study is to 'inform the design of an addition to the Wilcox House and the rehabilitation of the historic structure.' Recognizing the longstanding local antiquarian interest attached to the house, an additional objective stated in the directive is: 'to aid interpretationassisting understanding of the significance of the architectural fabric.'
