Weber Basin Project: Historical Cultural Resources Study
The Weber Basin Project was constructed in the 1950's and 1960's to supplement two earlier Reclamation water projects, the Weber River and Provo River Projects. The Weber Basin Project supplies water for both irrigation and municipal and industrial (M&I) use in Davis, Morgan Summit, and Weber Counties, Utah. The activity requiring the cultural resources study is the conversion of authorized use of between 20,000 and 40,000 acre-feet of water per year from irrigation to M&I. Five communities in northern Utah were surveyed: Hooper, Plain City, Huntsville, Farmington, and Eden, Weber County and Davis County. Of the 2828 structures recorded, 472 were considered to be potentially eligible for inclusion in the National Register.
