Tension Pile Behaviour in Clay: Centrifuge Modelling Techniques
Centrifuge modelling techniques, and the various scaling laws, have been discussed by various workers (e.g. Ovesen (1979), Schofield (1980)). While the principles behind the techniques are well understood, each new prototype problem engenders particular, novel, experimental techniques. This paper describes a variety of such techniques, which have been developed in conjunction with the Cambridge Geotechnical Centrifuge, to investigate the behavior of tension piles in clay.
