Cyclic Hot-Salt Stress Corrosion of Titanium Alloys
Hot-salt stress-corrosion cracking of Ti-6Al-4V, Ti-8Al-1Mo-1V, Ti-13V-11Cr-3Al, Ti-6Al-6V-2Sn, and Ti-679 was investigated for both continuous exposure and a specified, cyclic, thermal exposure representing a typical Mach 3 mission. The effects of heat treatment and material thickness were also studied. (Author)
