Documentation is made of various structures and mechanical devices for promoting highway safety. Reports pertain to highway signs and displays, barriers, medians, breakaway poles and supports, crash cushions, parapets, guard rails, curbs, and fences. Discussions are presented of impact attenuators, arrester beds, and other safety appurtenances. Also noted are median grates, redirecting curbs, and other installations. Some attention is given to tests and methodology. (This updated bibliography contains 123 abstracts, 21 of which are new entries to the previous edition.)
