Development of a New Highway Traffic Noise Prediction Model. Volume 5. Basis for PSUHTRAN Highway Traffic Noise Prediction Model
The report discusses principles of sound propagation and barrier attenuation relevant to a highway traffic noise prediction model newly developed for the Federal Highway Administration. The new model introduces features which earlier highway noise models do not possess. In particular, earlier models have not accounted for the effects phase differences among multiple propagation paths. The advantage of such models has been simplicity in noise prediction.
