Emission of Fission Products and Other Activities During the Accident to Windscale Pile No. 1 in October 1957
Information on the release of activity from Windscale during the accident of October 1957 is reviewed, and some previously unpublished data are given. The activities of exp 131 I released to atmosphere, retained on the pile filters and washed out of the pile are compared with the activity in the channels involved in the fire. The information on the physical form of the released activity is summarised. (Atomindex citation 15:006001)
