Effectiveness of 1 7/8 Inch, 2 1/8 Inch, 2 3/8 Inch, and 2 5/8 Inch Senco Nails
The effectiveness of 2 1/2 in., 3 in., 3 1/4 in., and 3 1/2 in. plastic-polymer coated Senco nails was documented in previous studies. With the introduction of 1 7/8 in., 2 1/8 in., 2 3/8 in., and 2 5/8 in. plastic-polymer coated Senco nails, data on their effectiveness were needed. In order to determine which nails could be replaced by these Senco nails, fully comparative tests were performed on the static axial withdrawal resistance of the following nails driven through 3/4 in. lumber into 2 x 4s of same lumber.
