The report contains the results of a study of disabling injuries which occurred in the heavy construction industry during 1961. The study includes privately operated general contractors engaged in heavy construction operations in the United States (except Alaska and Hawaii). The report includes injury frequency and severity rates by size (number of employees), kind of construction, and geographic location of construction sites. Rate information for selected occupations is provided. The report also contains information about the number of injuries by nature of injury and part of body injured.
