Implementation of the Use of Higher Micro-Fines in Concrete Pavements, Final Report
The main purpose of this project was to implement previous research performed on concrete utilizing micro-fines in a field test. The project can be divided into three main parts: First, predetermined materials that were local to the field trial site, were characterized and used to design three concrete mixtures with increasing percentages of micro-fines; Next, the mixtures were placed on Business 287 in Saginaw, Texas to monitor their workability during construction and their short and long-term behavior; Lastly, a procedure was developed to design pavement mixtures with higher percentages of micro-fines.
