Biological Assessment for Restoring Fish Passage at the Price-Stubb Diversion Dam on the Colorado River Near Palisade, Colorado
The Price-Stubb Diversion Dam constructed in 1911, represents a barrier to all upstream fish movement. The Dam was constructed by the Palisade and Mesa County Irrigation Districts to provide irrigation water to lands around Palisade, Colorado. In 1919, the dam was no longer used following the completion of the Bureau of Reclamations (Reclamation) Grand Valley Project Diversion Dam and the Government Highline Canal. Reclamation, on behalf of the Upper Colorado River Endangered Fishes Recovery Program, would construct a rock fish passage at the Price-Stubb Diversion Dam to allow fish access above the Dam. The purpose of this biological assessment is to evaluate affects of the proposed action of restoring fish passage at the Price-Stubb Diversion Dam to species listed under the Endangered Species Act of 1973.
