Pikes Peak Regional Housing Analysis-1969
The report presents an initial assessment and evaluation of historical and current housing conditions and problems in the planning program of the Pikes Peak area. Basically, the document identifies the structural characteristics of substandard housing units in the Region, and the basic socioeconomic characteristics of the people residing in poor housing conditions. Correlations between housing conditions and socioeconomic factors were also ascertained and analyzed in detail. Observations were then made to determine the fundamental social, political, financial, and physical conditions which are contributing to blighted housing conditions. Finally, an effort was made to identify and quantify the major obstacles inhibiting the improvement of the region's poor housing conditions. (Author)
