Energy Conservation Potential in Low-Rise, High-Density Housing
This report contains results of a year-long study of energy consumption in New York Housing Authority projects and of the design analysis for row house type buildings. Computer simulations and economic analyses were made of 113 design options, and the most cost-effective and energy efficient options were selected. The results of this study should prove useful in the design of urban infill housing and provide a basis for further investigation of energy-efficient, low-rise, high-density housing.
