The papers include a report on a series of interviews concerning the most efficient and economical means of ensuring the availability of public transportation that the elderly and the handicapped can effectively use; an identification of who and where the 'carless' are and what transportation alternatives exist for them; an examination of the ways in which social service agencies in a small city cope with the transportation problems of immobile clients; a study of the transportation needs of elderly citizens residing in medium-sized cities; and a pilot study to evaluate the income-distribution effects of the proposed Atlanta transit system.
