Local housing activities and new technologies in housing are identified along with the characteristics of the existing housing stock in Kane County. The demand for housing is discussed in detail and includes the following areas of concern: determination of market area, implications of future population growth on housing needs, socioeconomic characteristics and implications with regard to housing needs, and other general elements relating to housing demand. The supply of housing is also discussed including the outlook for new housing, the programs available for subsidized housing and gaps in the supply of housing. A summary listing problems, obstacles, short-range objectives, related planning activities and recommended program activities for the coming year is also included. (Author)
