The New York State Department of Transportation is seeking Federal Highway Administration approval for a 5.75 mile arterial within the town and city of Poughkeepsie. The project begins at the Mid Hudson Bridge (Route 9) and proceeds on an easterly course utilizing as many existing city and town streets as possible until it reaches Marshall Road (Route 55) and Longview Road (Route 44). Environmental impacts and adverse effects are discussed.
