Computer Simulation and Validation of California Profilograph
A California type profilograph is used by paving contractors on some paving projects in the State of Ohio measure the roughness of newly paved highways. Based on these Profilograph measurements, the paving contractor may be eligible for a bonus payment for a smooth highway. To be able to validate the measurements made by the paving contractor, a computer program has been developed which provides the Ohio DOT an independent method of validating the Profilograph measurements made by the paving contractor.
